    Public Leader with extensive experience in government and energy Industry. Mr. Icken had an extensive career of over 30 years with ExxonMobil; He was Chief Development Officer for the City of Houston for over 18 years and Executive Vice President for the Texas Medical Center. Mr. Icken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Science in Industrial Administration also from Carnegie Mellon.

  • Sylvester Turner, Mayor Emeritus

    Sylvester Turner served as the Mayor of the City of Houston for eight years from 2016-2024.

    As Mayor he forged public-private partnerships to expand Houston’s technology and innovation footprint. Prior to serving as Houston’s mayor, Turner served for 27 years as the Representative for Texas House District 139. He worked on the House Appropriations Committee for 21 years. He is a graduate of the University of Houston and earned a law degree from Harvard University.
